We are the Thüringer Holzwerke Hermsdorf GmbH - a young company with an experienced team.
Since our foundation in June 2025, we have been building on a location steeped in tradition: In Hermsdorf, over the decades more than one million cubic metres of glulam processed - including special components with spans of up to 50 metres. We are continuing this expertise - with a new focus and clear standards.
As one of the few timber construction companies in Germany, we manufacture Special beams made of glulam and Elements made of cross laminated timber for demanding load-bearing structures such as sports facilities, industrial halls, modular buildings and architecturally special projects.

Together with an experienced production team, partners from the industry and entrepreneurial determination, a viable concept was developed - with a clear focus on Technical expertise, Sustainable production and Regional responsibility.
Today, we employ around 25 people in Hermsdorf - with the aim of increasing the workforce to around 100 in the medium term and gradually restore the site to its former strength. Following the insolvency of the previous owner in 2024, the future was initially uncertain. However, this challenging phase revealed what makes this location special: Cohesion, commitment and the motivation to not only preserve timber construction in Hermsdorf, but to rethink it.
The basis for this is not only our infrastructure and expertise from over 30 years of glulam production, but above all what has sustained us even in difficult times: Team spirit, expertise and the willingness to take on responsibility.
